Art sales & acquisitions

Since the late 1980s, Catherine Duret has been working as a private independent art dealer based in Geneva. Her academic background in art history gives her a wide-ranging expertise in the major movements of the 19th and 20th centuries.

She assists collectors in building and refining their collections, sourcing rare and meaningful artworks aligned with their sensibilities and with key creative periods of each artist’s career.
She also provides a discreet, direct, and professional alternative for collectors wishing to sell works outside of the auction circuit.

Another aspect of her activity are regular purchased from paintings and sculptures.
With a strong focus on provenance and artistic relevance, she favors artworks from private collections often remained intact over decades, while maintaining an attentive outlook on the evolving contemporary art scene.

Catherine occasionally collaborates with galleries and institutions in the research and sourcing works for curated exhibitions.

On the other hand her annual participation in Art Genève since its inception in 2012 allows her to present rare and refined selections to a broader audience.

Discretion, discernment, professionalism, and a deep knowledge of the art market are the cornerstones of her practice.
